Grace & Green is a certified B Corporation

In 2023, Grace & Green announced that it was a certified B Corporation with an incredible score of 146.5, making us the highest scoring B Corp in organic-certified period care, ranking in the top 10% of B Corps globally.

What is a B Corp?

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps for short, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.

To complete the certification, companies must legally embed their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company article.

The B Corp Community

Grace & Green is now part of a community of 7,000 businesses globally who have certified. The B Corp community is growing faster than ever and there are over 1,800 of us in the UK.

There’s even a whole month (March) dedicated to celebrating B Corps and everything it means to be one.

Why did Grace & Green rank so highly?

We’re pleased to say that we have the highest rating of any disposable period brand for positive environmental impact, with products being created from 100% organic-certified cotton and bamboo that is biodegradable and free from any synthetic chemicals.

B Corp also recognised the company’s efforts in the community, including charitable giving and education. We scored 28 out of 30 for the ‘Designed to Give’ business model.

As part of our Period Dignity initiative, we proudly donate 50% of products free of charge to organisations that tackle period poverty, including councils, charities and educational institutions.

A word from our Founder, Fran

“After spending over a decade in the water and sanitation sector and having witnessed first-hand how conventional period products impact our water systems and oceans, I knew that I had to do something to help solve this problem.

“We believe that access to safe and sustainable period products is a basic right and it’s why ethics and equal access are at the heart of all we do.

“Grace & Green is more than just ethical products, we work to tackle period poverty and stigma on a daily basis, advocating for free period products in all public spaces. The majority of the company is also owned by the people who make our vision a reality everyday. Becoming the highest scoring B Corp period brand in the UK confirms and celebrates this commitment.”

We want to take this moment to thank our community for helping us achieve this incredible milestone in our sustainability journey. You can see the full breakdown of our B Corp score here.
